Veterinary help and surgery for Jinger’s eyeSweet Jinger is a 6 year old terrier mix and a beloved friend to an area disabled, elderly woman. She came to us for aid and mentioned that she was so worried about a mass that had formed on Jinger's eye. Jinger appears to have cherry eye and will need surgery in order to correct it. The nictitating membrane, also known as the third eyelid, is an important part of a dog's eyes. It serves as a barrier that protects the tear glands from foreign objects, as well as provides lubrication to the cornea. Cherry eye occurs when the tear gland bulges from the eye socket. It is extremely important to treat this problem as soon as possible, as it can lead to dry eye, which would eventually mean poor Jinger will lose sight in this eye. Your gift will help Paws fund the surgery Jinger needs to have a healthy eye again.
